When I was young my grandmother taught me to knit on plastic needles with acrylic yarn. My knitting was so tight the two seemed to fuse together until I nearly had to use scissors to bind off.

Fast forward a decade and a half and I was living 2,000 miles away in a new state with a new job and new insecurities. One night I cast on some thick yarn onto some small needles and knit a really stiff square. Now knitting is my meditation, my calming force. I knit for my family and for charity.

Join me at https://bowsideknits.wordpress.com/ as I post new designs and to follow my progress as I work to knit 400 items for charity. The clock is ticking!!

Best stitches~
